Feste Trafikkskole takes its social responsibility seriously by being environmentally conscious.
The mayor of Alver municipality, Sara Hamre Sekkingstad, and the chief project manager for community development, Tove Hagenes, paid a visit to present the visible proof of the certification.
We are the first driving school in Alver municipality to become an Eco-Lighthouse, which we are very proud of! Customers, students, and authorities expect businesses to take responsibility for the environment and sustainability. For this reason, Feste Trafikkskole has worked in a structured and targeted manner to achieve this certification. At the same time, it gives us an immense responsibility to ensure that our operations continue to develop and become as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. And, not least, to demonstrate to our customers that we prioritize this.

What does it mean to be an Eco-Lighthouse?
Eco-Lighthouse is a national scheme that offers a concrete certification tool and an effective environmental management system, designed to help enterprises reduce their environmental impact, stimulate green transition, and increase competitiveness. The certification is approved by the EU and recognized as an official environmental standard in Norway.
The certification itself is carried out by Certnor, an independent certification body, which verifies that the enterprise meets the Eco-Lighthouse criteria. The result is a certificate valid for three years, which can be used in tenders.
What does it mean to be an Eco-Lighthouse?
An Eco-Lighthouse certified enterprise has documented that it meets comprehensive and relevant requirements within environment and sustainability, tailored to its industry, activity, and operations. The criteria cover areas such as the work environment, waste, energy, procurement, and transportation, among others.
The enterprise is committed to working continuously on improving its environmental performance. Through annual reporting and recertification every three years, Eco-Lighthouse ensures that the efforts are kept up to date and in line with current criteria and societal expectations.
Enterprises that can demonstrate structured and documented sustainability efforts are perceived as more reputable and gain increased trust in the market.
