First aid course – confidence when it matters

The first aid course is a compulsory part of the basic traffic course, and one of the most important things you learn on the way to your driving licence. Here you gain the knowledge that can save lives if you're the first to arrive at a traffic accident. At Feste Trafikkskole in Knarvik and Åsane, you learn first aid through practical exercises, not just theory – so you know what to do when it really counts.

Confident at the scene with Feste

Being first to arrive at an accident can be frightening. Our goal is for you to leave the course feeling calm and with a clear plan: how to secure the scene, assess the extent of injuries, alert the emergency services correctly and give life-saving first aid. We practise hands-on, in a safe setting, so the skills stick when you need them.

Course content

Aim of the course

The first aid course gives you basic skills in handling traffic accidents. You should know your duties at a traffic accident, know how to secure the scene and act there, be able to assess the extent of injuries and master practical, life-saving first aid.

What you'll learn:

Among other things, you take part in the rescue work at a staged accident, where you experience what it's like to be first to arrive at a scene. You learn how important it is to get an overview of the extent of injuries before you alert the emergency services, how to make that call correctly, and what basic routines apply at an accident scene. Through practical exercises, you further develop your skills in life-saving first aid at traffic accidents.

The course is 4 hours (240 minutes) and is compulsory.

Feel free to bring valid ID. Arrive in good time – if you arrive too late, we can't approve the session under the rules from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, and it will then have to be made up on a later course.

Once the course is completed and registered, you'll find your course certificate digitally on Din side (My Page) at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. You must bring this certificate when you practise driving.
